There are many times when I try to glean knowledge and inspiration from Seth Godin. Many people in my position would say the same thing. There is a post out there from Seth that talks about changing a business or the way you do things in a recession. Read his post here. This post is a classic and has always hit me pretty hard both as an entreprepreneur and a business professional.

If you’re not happy with what you’ve got, what radical changes are you willing to make to change what you’re getting? In my experience, not much. But that doesn’t mean you can’t start now.

I guess the question would be… what is the definition of radical change? Go ahead and think back. Can you relate the idea of radical change to a point in your past? Have you ever created radical change within your company or your life? This is brand new for me because I recently went through some radical changes in my business and my life.

What does it mean to have a radical shift? It could be a shift in your business environment. It could be a new product offering or a change in management.

Radical change is what you make it. However, it is important to remember that change is an extremely important dynamic in the success of any business. Change is what drives innovation and fuels curiosity of what COULD happen.  It is important to shift your understanding with how your business was run a decade ago to how you NEED to run it now.

The important thing to focus on? Are you changing? Change is what you should focus on and understand. Human development is consistent with change.  Why shouldn’t your business focus on the same traits? We are all trying to work through this world to make a name… make some money.. and provide for the people we love.

Do not ignore change. I find it sad that Seth Godin has a hard time finding people willing to go through radical change or at least witnessing it. I am going to make the decision today to go through some radical change!

And change constantly… who is with me?
