I’ve had the pleasure of working on a new initiative with the people of at Give.mobi and Amanda Hite that is focused on helping a number of nonprofits raise more money using mobile and Twitter. I know that many of you are extremely active in the nonprofits based in your community. Let’s rock it and help others around the nation.
The initiative is to encourage routine and personal philanthropy from the ever expanding (and awesome) Twitter community. The #GiveMonday initiative will make “exlclusive” use of Twitter to engage a worldwide base of mobil on the 1st Monday of each month.
Here’s how it works.
Each month, the peeps at #GiveMonday will release a series of #GiveMonday messages via Twitter. Collaborators will RT messages to their followers and so on. The messages will will serve to give users the opportunity to simply click and select the cause or nonprofit of their choice to give. Donors can give any amount using PayPal or they could pledge.
All donations go directly from the mobile phone to the cause or nonprofit.
One of the first #GiveMonday will take place this coming Monday, September 5th. I know.. I know… Labor day. However, it is important to support the nonprofit organizations of the world ANY day of the week. 🙂
I’d be honored if you would join me this monday and look forward to hearing back from you. If you have any questions you can do two things.
1. Send me an email
