Malcolm Gladwell has a great quote:

“Practice isn’t the thing you do once you’re good. It’s the thing you do that makes you good.”
— Malcolm Gladwell (Outliers)

I love this quote. It can be applied to literally anything you are trying to accomplish in life. It is important to practice everything you do whether running or online marketing. If we are talking solely about marketing and communication, I would refashion the quote to say:

Detailed practice, measurement and commitment are not the things you do once you’re successful. They are the things you do that makes you good at growing sales and business.

It is my believe that many marketers do not believe in the concept of measurement, practice, detail and commitment. The more marketers I hear speak… the more I am convinced that a one-stop approach is the key to marketing.

Nothing was ever accomplished without some hard work. If you are speaking to someone who promises that they are the way, the truth, and the light. Run the other way… run fast.

It is important that you also understand that guerilla marketing is extremely important in this world of business. I was reading a post over at Business on Main that talked about the importance of digital and how many businesses are making it work for them. Go check it out.

Hard work has always driven revenue and success… marketing is no different.
