On the first of November, a new social network called Snowglo appeared online.  It is a UK based review website, that allows users to sign up, create a profile and begin reviewing everything and anything in order to win kudos points, badges and even money.

The site had been promoted by its owners; Phil Treagus and Kane Lodge for almost 18 months as they fine tuned their concept and had the site designed by Portsmouth based web design company, Bonzo Creative.  The launch was a major success, with the site achieving over 500 sign ups in the first 24 hours of being live.  This is truly a testament to the power of social media, as the site was almost exclusively promoted on just Twitter and Facebook.

The website has a fun theme, in fact the mission statement of Snowglo is to make reviewing fun.  This is achieved by allowing users to connect with each other and compete against each other on a leaderboard which is constantly changing as users participate on the site.  The website splits reviewing into two different forms; product reviews and Snowglo Live reviews.  Product reviews are the serious side of the website, where users create informative reviews of products they can find in the database.  Snowglo Live however is where the site allows its users to flex their creativity, encouraging them to review literally anything.  Some personal favourites so far have been reviews of fresh air, the universe and Morgan Freeman’s voice.
